Here at Honed Digital we specialise in the delivery of useful and engaging digital products. Due to continued growth, we’re now looking for a Head of Business Development to join our team.
We’ve been fortunate to work with an amazing lineup of clients throughout our first 4 years - visionary startups/entrepreneurs, proven operators wanting to build digital spinoffs of their existing businesses, and corporates and global medical institutes wanting to level up their technology strategies. Projects typically range across advisory, company and product strategy, capital raising support, due diligence, design/UX, product, development and support.

We’ve attracted great talent across our Sydney, London and Buenos Aires teams, thanks in part because day-after-day we’re working on interesting, challenging products that include a wide range of mobile applications, web platforms, ecommerce, IOT integrations, real time broadcasting, augmented and virtual reality applications and advanced computer vision. We love this stuff!

For the right Head of Business Development there is enormous scope to provide a compelling offering to potential clients in need of high calibre technology strategy and execution.

Based in our Double Bay office, the core responsibility of this role is to grow our project pipeline and increase revenue above and beyond its current upward trajectory.

Reporting to our CEO, as the Head of Business Development your responsibilities will include:

  • Forming and executing the BD strategy inline with company targets.
  • Growing the new business pipeline.
  • Implementing systems and processes to support an increase in new business.
  • Communicating upcoming projects internally so that resourcing/hiring keeps pace.
  • Consistently delivering on your sales forecasts.
  • Leading the creation of collateral required to attract, pitch and close new business opportunities.
  • Growing and managing your Business Development team, including into new markets.
Required skills and experience include:
  • A proven track record of revenue growth within a digital agency or similar company.
  • A solid understanding of product and software development concepts.
  • Established relationships with decision makers within Australian corporates.
  • Strong connections within the Startup and Venture Capital community is a bonus.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills with an ambitious, self-driven personality.
  • An eye for opportunities where others miss them. Some of our best projects have come from unexpected places!
  • Data-driven, iterative and reflective about both wins and losses.
  • Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills.
